Very tasty cooked breakfasts, an impressive old house with high ceilings and our room was warm and well furnished with very comfortable beds. The location is great for many walks and hikes and it is on a bus route if you get tired! Also it is a short walk up the road to a great pub restaurant for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were friendly and helpful,

We stayed here for a few days in July 2023. The host were wonderful. The place itself was very cosy and clean. My 13 year old son and me enjoyed the books so much. The location was perfect for treks and hikes and also to visit other places in Lake District. We had a car but we realise we could have also roamed around without one since the Lake District bus 555 passes in front of the Lodge. Loved this place, we felt so calm and serene.

Absolutely an amazing stay!  The hosts were incredibly helpful, very knowledgeable about the area and had maps available for walks in the area. A ramblers' paradise! The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight, a menu provided the evening before, ensures you have your bespoke breakfast at the time you want in the beautiful dining room along with cereal and juices. The Lodge is walking distance to Ambleside, a beautiful little town with lots of shops and cafés.This was a little bit of heaven in the Lake District. Highly Recommend!

Lovely location and great service. Stayed in bunk room with friend. A second friend stayed in b&b. No complaints from anyone. Not first visit and won’t be the last.

Enjoyed an overnight stay at this very cosy, comfortable bed and breakfast.Breakfast selection was comprehensive and as good as it gets. Nice garden to the side that runs down to a stream and a pub less than a 5 mins walk down the road that serves food. We went there at night and we're lucky enough to see the wild badgers enjoying a feed. Good walks in the immediate and surrounding area.Perfect hosts who aim to please with a lot of information available about walks and attractions, an honesty bar and lots of books and games for guest use. What can I say about this place...too much to mention. Greeted by lovely host Mark who explained the honesty boxes scattered around for drinks, crisps chocolate, ice lollys which was a really nice touch. Milk was given to us in a flask to take take up to room so no little cartons of milk where you need to put 3 in to make a good coloured brew and told we can collect another flask if needed from fridge any time. Escorted to our room which was really clean and overlooked the garden and river really stunning ... everything we needed spare pillows, fan, a cafeteria as well as a kettle ( never seen before in a room) quirky little things such as a sleep mask and ear plugs great to block out the snoring partner!! Spent most of the night in 'the snug' reading local walks and the books on offer next to a lovely log burner. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cereals and the best fried breakfast I've had In a long time..really felt like our home is your home feel. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts they have literally thought of everything for their guests ie: umbrellas, head torches and walking poles all on offer to borrow for walks ...I will be staying again! I loved everything about it.! Amazing hosts well done to you both for creating a little gem.
